Sailing courses at Palawan Sailing, a fully accredited International Sailing Schools Association (ISSA) sailing school in El Nido, Palawan. Palawan Sailing offers sailing courses from: Learn to Sail Through to fully certified Offshore Skipper. There are several boats at your disposal, from 28 feet Yamaha to a 45 foot aluminum/carbon Levrier des Mers. The main classroom is on the ocean but there is also an onshore classroom for studying navigation.

For those who want to learn to race then the Albay Yacht club offers monthly competitions where you can test yourself against those who have been sailing the longest.

Sailing Courses Manila Bay

Sailing courses at Philippine School of Yachting, a fully accredited RYA sailing school in Manila Bay. Philippine School of Yachting offers sailing courses from: Competent Crew through to Coastal Skipper. Initially aboard a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 389, the main classroom is on the ocean but there is also an onshore classroom for studying navigation and theory.

The Puerto Galera Yacht Club sailing school has been in operation since 2004. Manu graduates have won medals in national and international sailing championships.

Samal sailing courses are available at Babak on Samal Island, Davao del Norte, at Layag Bugsay Dabaw. The Davao Sailing club in Samal has recently started operation operation and what it lacks in terms of facilities and facade it makes up for in terms of commitment and determination to teach people how to enjoy the sport of sailing. Once you learn to sail in Samal you can sail around the Davao Gulf, step ashore and enjoy native durian fruits along with farmed bananas, pineapples and pomelos.

Subic Bay, Zambales

Sailing Courses Subic Bay

Sailing courses for people who want to learn to sail in Subic Bay; certificates issued upon successful completion of a course. All equipment provided. Instruction in English and Filipino. The Subic Sailing School is a recent expansion of the Subic Sailing club, otherwise known as the Saturday Afternoon Gentlemen Sailors ("SAGS"), in conjunction with Local Government Units and the yachting industry.

Taal Lake sailing courses provide for people who want to learn to sail in clean water, close to Metro Manila; Taal Lake Yacht Club is about an hour and a bit by private car from Makati City. All equipment provided. Instruction in English and Filipino. The Taal Lake Yacht Club is the home of the Hobie 16 fleet in the Philippines and has been providing sailing lessons for more than a decade on the spectacularly beautiful Taal Volcano lake.

If you are thinking it would be a good idea to fly to the Philippines to start a sailing course (actually, a very good idea) then you need to know that the main airline hubs are located in Metro Manila and the cities of Cebu and Davao. Subsidiary international airports are located in: Clark, Puerto Princesa, Iloilo, Kalibo and Laoag.

The three main domestic airlines are Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Air Asia Philippines. In addition, some of the smaller airports are serviced by Sunlight Air, Air Swift and SkyJet Airlines.
