Power boats and other powered yachts will usually get you to your destination faster and in more luxurious comfort than the average sailing yacht. They usually have a more living space, more cabins and come complete with a full crew, with dedicated chefs and other staff to accommodate your desires. But that is at the top end . . .
More common in the Philippines are the more modest power boats, designed for smaller groups or perhaps a family. Modesty does not menessarily mean less space just fewer cabins amd fewer crew. The comfort is still there and so is the reliability of getting to your destination in a predicatble time.
If there is a downside to owning a power boat or motor yacht it is the costs of fuel and engine maintenance for, like a car, a powered yacht needs to be regularly maintained so that it is ready to use whenever the owner wants to travel.
There are other times when powered boats may have advantages over sailing boats, for example as specialist craft for resort transport, safaris and excursions. Some of these are now embracing solar energy and moving away from gasoline and diesel power but we do not see so many of these in the Philippines..
