Cruising Routes In Philippine Islands

There are many cruising routes in the Philippine Islands but there are some that are more popular than others.

There are also some places that are very popular for sunset cruises and for one-day adventures, just to see of you are going to like a longer cruising experience.

We have listed here some of the most popular routes and destinations for sunset cruises. Take your pick and enjoy the beauty of the Philippine Islands

Popular Cruising Routes

All Routes Lead To Boracay

Not strictly true but if there is one destination that is most popular for a dropping-off point it is Boracay Island.

Boracay Island is by far the most popular end-destination for sailing cruises in the Philippines. Whether you start in Puerto Galera or somewhere else, Boracay is likely to be your end point on an adventure that can take you back through history to experience places that you have only dreamed of.

If you depart from Puerto Galera or (say) Laiya then a direct sail to Boracay Island will take approximately 24 hours. However, if you did that you would miss too much along the way. Here is our alternative recommendation that should take five to seven days: Puerto Galera (or Laiya) to either Tres Reyes (Marinduque) or Sibale (Romblon); to Banton Island (Romblon); to Romblon (Romblon); to southern Tablas Island or Sibuyan Island (Romblon); finally to Boracay (Aklan).

Alternatively, you could start in Busuanga to get to Boracay (not sure why you would want to leave Busuanga). To Boracay over four to seven days you could stop at: Apo Reef (Occ Mindoro) and Pandan Island (Occ Mindoro); to Bulalacao (Occ Mindoro); to Cuyo Islands (Palawan); finally to Boracay (Aklan).

Cruising Palawan

Busuanga (northern Palawan) offers a five day adventure that can transport you across continents, with African game on Culion Island, and so many unusual places to stop along the way, you will want to come back and explore more.

From Busuanga you can sail South towards the stunning beauty of El Nido over five to seven days, and experience more than a hundred islands in between.

Cruising Cebu

One of the least used departure points but one with possibly the most potential for a tropical sailing cruise adventure, is out of Cebu (or Mactan). From Cebu you can choose to go North to Malapascua and Bantayan. Both Islands, stunning in their own right, offer underwater attractions that are second to none in Asia.

Alternatively, you could sail South towards Bohol and Paglao Islands, and if you have a few more days, further South to Camiguin or West to Apo Island (Negros Oriental) and southern Negros.

Popular Sunset Cruises & Day Sailing

Sunset cruises and day sailing adventures are organized to enable groups of people to enjoy the experience of doing something different and on the water. Very popular with weekend vacationers, sunset cruises and day trips can be found at all the major tourist destinations.

  • Subic Bay
