Bareboat Yacht Charter | Sailing

Bareboat pleasure yacht charter in the Philippines the full list is here. Bareboat yacht charter is a subject of much discussion between relevant Philippine government departments. At present bareboat yacht charter using pleasure vessels (sailing or powered) falls outside the normal sphere of regulations and as such it is challenging to obtain vessel insurance for this purpose; liability insurance is required for anyone undertaking bareboat yacht charter in the Philippines. It is for this reason that most yacht owners insist on a "boat captain" being aboard while navigating, even for bareboat yacht charter.

Having a knowledgable "boat captain" aboard is usually a good thing in the Philippines because even the latest charts are not completely up to date and their accuracy frequently relates to a time before World War II.

If you are flying into the Philippines to start your yacht charter then you need to know that the main airline hubs are located in Metro Manila and the cities of Cebu and Davao. Here is a useful website that will show you which airlines fly to the closest airport in the Philippines.
